Charles Browne, Beaumont, Dublin

Browne, William Charles George Edward (‘Charlie’ to his friends) of Beaumont, Dublin. This beautiful and most loved husband to Joan, father to David, Peter and Keith, grandfather to Matthew, Rachel, Samuel, Jonathan and Robbie and great grandfather to Amelia, peacefully passed away from this life on December 6th in St. Francis’ Hospice, Raheny surrounded by his wife and family.

He loved to sing, play guitar, blow a mean trumpet (without the trumpet) and had a great sense of humour founded on The Goon Show which stayed with him to the end. Fit since his military days, he ran marathons, played football and practiced martial arts before settling on a more sedate but rewarding pastime singing with in the Dublin Welsh Male Voice Choir. Charlie will be sadly missed by his loving family and very many friends whose lives are poorer for his parting.

Charlie had a request for you all for his funeral…”Let there be colours” so please feel free to wear your brightest clothes and celebrate his life.

Funeral service will be on Friday at 10am in the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome, Harolds Cross. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to St. Francis Hospice who looked after him in his final days with care and compassion. www.sfh.ie or on the day.
