Sheila Lee, Shankhill, Dublin 18

In Loving Memory of Sheila Helen Greenfield-Lee

With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Sheila Helena Greenfield-Lee, a soul whose gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Sheila departed from this world peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, on the evening of March 17th, as she embarked on a new and boundless journey, with her sister Monica and recently departed cousin Michael by her side. Her valiant resilience throughout her prolonged illness revealed Sheila’s extraordinary courage, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of her husband Robert and her, cherished children Nicole and Aran, her devoted brother Sven, and her loving extended families spanning across Ireland, Denmark, and Portugal. Beyond her immediate circle, Sheila’s compassionate nature reached countless others around the globe, enriching and transforming lives in profound ways.

A beacon of kindness and sensitivity, Sheila possessed an innate connection with all creatures, particularly horses and dogs, reflecting her deep understanding and reverence for the beauty of life in all its forms. Her memory will forever linger in our hearts, cherished in the fond recollections, shared moments, and the wisdom imparted through her written words.

In the words she held dear, “For to be free is to live in a way that enhances the freedom of others.” Sheila’s legacy of empathy and compassion serves as a guiding light for us all, inspiring acts of kindness and selflessness in her honour.

Friends and well-wishers are invited to pay their respects at her Dublin residence from 6pm to 9pm this Friday, March 22nd. A service to celebrate Sheila’s life will be held at 3:15 PM on Saturday, March 23rd, at Mount Jerome Crematorium, followed by an informal gathering at the family home. In tribute to her vibrant spirit, attendees are encouraged to wear bright colours, reflecting the joy and love she brought to all she encountered.

As we bid farewell to Sheila, we find solace in the memories we shared and the profound impact she made during her time with us. Messages and tributes in honour of Sheila may be shared by clicking the provided link.

In a twist of fate, Sheila’s memoir, chronicling her profound connection with Lusitano horses and her life’s philosophy, was launched by her American publisher last weekend. Through her memoir, titled “To Borrow Freedom,” Sheila’s legacy will continue to inspire and uplift, echoing her unwavering belief in the power of love, compassion, kindness and the pursuit of freedom.

Though she may have departed from this earthly realm, Sheila’s spirit remains present, guiding us with love and light as we navigate life’s journey.

May her soul find eternal peace and may her memory be a blessing to us all.
