Mona Connolly, Portmarnock, County Dublin
Connolly (née Sharpe), Mona, 31st March 2020, Portmarnock. Peacefully in the wonderful care of Talbot Lodge Nursing home and cared for by the staff in Beaumont Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Matthew and predeceased by her sons Albert and Joe. Very sadly missed by her loving daughters Margaret, Bernadette, Mary and Nancy and also Jason, her adored grandchildren and great grandchildren, brother Terry, sister Bernadette, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May She Rest in Peace.
A private funeral will take place for immediate family due to Government advice and HSE guidelines regarding public gatherings. Those who would have liked to attend the funeral, but due to current restrictions cannot or feel unable to do so, please feel free to leave a message in the Condolence Book at the bottom of this page or send on condolences by traditional manner. The family intends to hold a memorial to celebrate Mona’s life at a later stage.
How can I express my condolence to you all. Mona was like a second Mother to me. I always remember the sweet tea she gave me as I waited for Nancy to get ready for school. Mona made your home welcoming to all us urchins on the street. St. Patrick’s Terrace. I apoligise that I did not know that she had passed. I would definitely, have been there. Please let me know when her Month’s Mind is or whatever celebration you plan to organise. Mona was a LADY and a truly wonderful woman. I have such fond memories of your dad, Mr. Connolly and of Albert. The sound of the sweet music that Nancy and Albert made, drifted through the windows. Please accept this condolence on behalf of Tim, Clare, Mary, Peter, Lar, Sally and myself Teresa Healy. Mona, you showed me what a Mother is and I will never forget you.
