Daniel Lysaght, Dublin 5

Rayner (Daniel) O’Connor Lysaght (late of 126 Killester Avenue, Dublin 5) passed away Friday 2nd July in Beaumont Hospital after a prolonged illness. He was the eldest son of Arthur Lysaght, surgeon and Jacqueline Lysaght (née Heard) from Wales. Sadly missed by his loving wife Aine, his brother William, sister Priscilla Stewart, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, friends and comrades from around the world. Rayner was a revolutionary Marxist, a historian and author. He lived to make this quote from Trotsky a reality:

“Life is beautiful. Let the future generations cleanse it of all evil, oppression, and violence, and enjoy it to the full.”

In line with Government advice and HSE guidelines regarding public gatherings, a private family funeral will take place on Tuesday 6th July. Those who would have liked to attend but due to current restrictions cannot, please feel free to leave a message in the Condolence Book at the bottom of the page or send on condolences in the traditional manner.
